The School of Communication Studies is an institute for Journalism and communication studies in India which is a part of the Punjab University located in Chandigarh.

The School began in 1941 in the University of the Punjab, Lahore, it is the oldest institute of mass communication in South Asia.

Doctor of Philosophy (Journalism and Mass Communication)
Duration 3 years
Eligibility Candidate passed the Master's examination in the concerned subject with a score of not less than 55% (50% for SC/ST/BC/PwD Category) marks in aggregate, or have appeared in the final year examination of Master's degree in the subject concerned from Panjab University, Chandigarh or from any other University (approved by the appropriate Academic Bodies of P.U.) shall also be eligible to appear for the Ph.D Entrance Test

Master of Arts (Journalism & Mass Communication)
Duration 2 years
Eligibility Passed one of the following examinations from a recognized university: Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 50% marks in aggregate. OR Bachelor's degree with at least 45% marks in the subject of Journalism & Mass Communication OR Bachelor's degree with Hons.. in the subject of Journalism & Mass Communication. OR Master's degree in any other subject

Post Graduate Diploma in Advertising & Public Relations
Duration 1 years
Eligibility Bachelor's degree in any discipline from any recognized University. Admission based on Aptitude Test
