Department of Mathematics , Sastra University at Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre was came into existence in the year 2002.

Objectives :

The department of mathematics develop inherent mathematics talent in students after class 12th and guide them into research level to promote research in mathematics influenced by Srinivasa Ramanujan.

Salient Features

B.Sc. (Mathematics and Computer Science):

3 year degree programme with two majors (Mathematics and Computer Science).

The syllabus is designed so that students can pursue higher education either in Mathematics or in Computer Science.

M.Sc. (Mathematics):

The syllabus gives equal weightage to both pure and applied mathematics.

The programme includes special papers like Stochastic Processes, , Differential Geometry and Algebraic Number Theory, Wavelet Transforms, Applied Cryptography, Combinatorics providing background for pursuing research work in pure/applied mathematics.

Math Forum

Organizes seminars, special lectures, workshops and symposia to encourage the students of mathematics gain mastery over their subject .
