Dr. Hari Singh Gour University is a Central University founded on 18 July 1946, during the British Raj. In February 1983 the name was changed to that of Sir Hari Singh Gour, the University's founder, by the State Government. It is the oldest university in Madhya Pradesh.

It offers courses at all levels such as bachelor, master, doctorate, diploma, and certificate. It also offers distance education programmes. It has several departments that offer specialised courses in the following fields and disciplines.

LLB (Bachelor of Laws) Program

Bachelor of Laws is full time three year course degree offered by Dr Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar and approved by UGC and BCI.

Eligibility
One seeking admission must have passed 10+2+3 or equivalent exam as a regular student from a recognized University or Institution.
One belonging to General (UR) and OBC categories must have secured at least 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA or equivalent in Grade in Qualifying Examination.
Relaxation of 5% marks in Qualifying Exam is given to one belonging to SC and ST Categories in this programme.
