The Railway Service Commission, Gorakhpur was established in1984. Initially it along with RRB-Muzaffarpur was catering requirement of North Eastern Railway.

With reorganization of Zonal Railways, in 2002 RRB -Muzaffarpur became part of East Central Railway and RRB-Gorakhpur only is catering to the requirement of North Eastern Railways.

It carries out recruitment of Group 'C' staff of H.Q. Offices in Izatnagar Lucknow and Varanasi divisions of North Eastern Railway and for Research Designs & Standards Organization (RDSO) – Lucknow.

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Gorakhpur has released final results for the post of Ticket Collector/ Ticket Examiner Cat No 3 of Advt No 04/2010.

Written examination was held from 01-09-2013 to 22-09-2013, 06-10-2013 & 19-01-2014, verification of documents was held from 17-11-2014 to 26-11-2014.
