here I am giving you information about required eligibility and physical measurement to apply for Indian police service officer examination organized by union public service commission below :

Educational qualification :
You have to pass an undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent.

Physical Eligibility :
Height –

Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm
Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm

Chest –
Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.

Eye sight
6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye.
6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.
Near vision J 1 for good eye.
J2 for worst eye.
High standard for the Colour-blind test
No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic.

Age limit :
Age should be between 21 years and 30 years
Age of 33 for OBC
35 year for SC/ST

Number of attempts
4 times for general and
7 times for OBC and infinity for Sc/St

UPSC Preliminary Examination Syllabus 2014
Syllabus of Paper I -(200 marks) Duration : Two hours

Current events of national and international importance.

History of India and Indian National Movement.
Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic.
Geography of India and the World.
Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political.
System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
Economic and Social Development-Sustainable.
Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social.
Sector Initiatives, etc.
General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization.

Syllabus for Paper II-(200 marks) Duration: Two hours
Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision making and problem solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level)

Indian Police Service (IPS) is one of the most prestigious services in India next only to the Indian Administrative Services (IAS). IPS exam is part of the Civil Services Exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC),

Eligibility
Applicants must have a degree from recognized university in any discipline. The Applicants who are writing their final degree exam can also apply for this exam. Applicants with professional and technical qualifications recognized by the Government as equivalent to professional and technical degrees.

Age:
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of filling the Civil Services,(Preliminary).

Height: A minimum height of 165 cm for men and 150 cm for women. The minimum height is relaxable to 160 and 145 cm for men and women respectively in the case of Applicants belonging to ST and to races such as Gorkhas, Garhwalias, Assamese, Kumaonis, Nagaland Tribals, etc.

Chest:
The minimum chest girth, fully expanded: 84 cm for men and 79 cm for women. Expansion of 5 cm for both men and women.

Eyesight:
A distant vision of 6/2 or 6/ 9 for worse eye and 6/6 or 6/9 vision for good eye. Near vision of J2 for worse eye and J1 for good eye

The physical standards are essential for IPS, which includes weekly run for 10kms in 60 minutes, rope climbing, horse riding, PT obstacles etc

Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of the medical test.

Nasal: candidate should not stammer while speaking
