Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts Indian Forest Services Exam or IFS exam every year for recruitment to forestry services of India.

Educational Qualification Required for UPSC IFS Exam :

– Age Limit: Candidate must be between age of 21-30 years on 1st July of the year of examination.

– Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects stated, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Forestry or Engineering of a recognized university or equivalent.

– Candidates appearing at their degree examination (with prescribed subjects) are also eligible to compete.

UPSC IFS Exam Pattern: Eligible candidates will be required to appear for a Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam (Objective type) Exam.

After qualifying it Candidates will appear in Indian Forest Service (Main) Written Exam followed by an Interview.

IFS Exam consists of two stages:
1) Civil Services Preliminary Exam (Objective Type)
2) Main Examination (Written and Interview)
