Re: Reaching NITK Surathkal

NITK is a 300 acres campus located on the National Highway (NH-17) and is a part of the Mangalore City Corporation.
It is the only Government owned Educational Institution with a private beach on the Arabian Sea.
There are three Railway Stations nearby to NITK, namely, Surathkal, Mangalore Junction (also called Kankanady) and Mangalore Central (also called the Mangalore Main).
A few trains stop in Surathkal Railway Station which is just about 3 kms. to NITK. Autorickshaws are generally available in the Surathkal Railway Station.
Most of the trains come to Mangalore Central Railway Station.
You may take a prepaid auto to “State Bank Service Bus Stand” and from there, you will get many buses to NITK.
Service Buses take about an hour to reach NITK while Express Buses take about 40 minutes. Get down at NITK Guest House stop.
Very few city buses are also plying via NITK (Route No.2).
In any case, before boarding the bus, please ensure that the bus stops at NITK.
