RDS Arena is a multi-purpose sports stadium, owned by the RDS and located in the Dublin suburb of Ballsbridge, Ireland.

RDS Main Arena

The RDS Main Arena is an outdoor stadium that caters for concerts of up to 35,000, hosts the world renowned Dublin Horse Show.

It is the home of the Heineken Cup winning Leinster Rugby team.

1. Concerts in the Main Arena

The RDS can accommodate up to 35,000 in the Main Arena.

With complete flexibility in stage and seating layout and excellent acoustics, the RDS has played host to some of the biggest names in rock, pop and classical music including Guns N Roses, Boyzone, Kanye West and George Michael.

2. Dublin Horse Show

The Dublin Horse Show takes place at the RDS in August every year.

3. Home of Leinster Rugby

Leinster Rugby first played at the RDS, the RDS has embarked on a major sports development programme.

The playing surface has been completely re-laid with high specification drainage and irrigation systems installed.

Floodlighting has been erected and, through the purchase of a new state of the art seating system, the seated capacity of the ground has been increased to 18,000, which includes the new sloping covered roof over the spectacular Grandstand.

4. Wrestling

The Arena hosted a WWE event which featured Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, John Cena and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

5. Concerts

Queen played at the RDS in the opening date of their 1979 Crazy Tour.

Boyzone played at the arena in 1999 and once again in their reunion in 2008.

Britney Spears played in the RDS on 6 June 2004 during The Onyx Hotel Tour, this was the last ever date of the tour as she twisted her knee the week after the show.
