Re: RBC Transfer to Bank of America

The process to transfer money from RBC or Royal Bank of Canada to Bank of America through the help of Online Banking is as follows:

To get started, simply sign into RBC Online Banking.

Once signed in, see an area called “Quick Payments and Transfers” – and within that box, a link that says “pays bills and transfer funds.” Click that link.

At this point, check some options on the left. Click the link that says “International Money Transfer”.

To complete transaction at this point, one will need:

The full name and address of the person one is sending money to.
The Bank name and Business Identifier Code (SWIFT BIC) or American Bankers Association Routing number (ABA).
If one is sending the funds directly into a Bank account, one also needs the recipient’s Bank account number. For certain countries this is known as IBAN (International Bank Account Number).

Once got all of the information one need, click “Start Money Transfer.” In the “Transfer Money From” drop-down menu: Choose the account one like to send money from.

Follow these simple steps to Transfer Money:

• First, enter the recipient’s full name and the country one is sending the money to in the drop down menu.
• Next, enter the recipient’s full address
• If one thinks one will be sending money again in the future one can choose to save the details. If one does so, enter a nickname for them.
• In addition to entering the name and address, one also need to select how the money is picked up by the recipient by completing the “Type of transfer” field. If the recipient doesn’t have a bank account with the receiving bank, one might be able to select “Pay upon ID” as the payment method.
• Now enter the account number along with the bank SWIFT BIC code or ABA Routing Number. If details are unknown, one will need to enter the bank’s name and city.
• If one has entered the SWIFT BIC or ABA routing number, click “verify” to validate the banking information entered. If one entered the bank’s name and location, will need to click “search”
• The bank associated with the information entered will appear below. Once has confirmed that it is correct, click “Continue”
• This will bring one back to the previous page where one can continue entering the information about money transfer.

Next to “Reason for Transfer”: Select reason from the drop down menu.

In the “Transfer Amount” field, enter the amount of money one like to send. One can enter this in Canadian funds or in the currency of the destination country, if it’s available in the drop down menu. Click “Continue”.

On the “Review and Confirm” screen, review the transaction details and agree to the “Terms and Conditions. Then select “Confirm” to finalize.
