The Rakovski Defence and Staff College was founded in 1912 with an act of the National Assembly of Bulgaria, it is Bulgaria's oldest military institution of higher education.

The college trains 1,500 officers and civil individuals a year and has 148 qualified lecturers.

Programmes and Courses:
Post-graduate courses for officers and civilians from the Ministry of Defence and the Bulgarian Army

Training courses for managers in state and local administration, institutions and organizations

Disaster Prevention and Consequence Management course
Initial requirements:
Necessary qualification: at least a bachelors degree

Command of English language: at least NATO STANAG 6001 - 2222, or equivalent to that.

Computer skills: Windows, MS office and working in a local network.

Security clearance: in accordance with that required for the position held.

Number of participants:

Minimum: 6

Maximum: 12

Duration of the course: one working week, six hours a day.
