Exam for post of Railway Loco Pilot is conducted by Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). Here I am giving you details about Railway Loco Pilot exam including required minimum qualification.

Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit:
Between 18 years to 30 years

Age Relaxation:
1. SC / ST candidates: 05 years
2. OBC candidates: 03 years
3. Ex-Serviceman with 6 months service: 03 years
4. Jammu & Kashmir residents from 01-01-1980 to 31-12-1989: 05 years
5. PWD candidates: 10 years
6. Widows & divorced women General candidates: Below 35 years
7. Widows & divorced women OBC candidates: Below 38 Years
8. Widows & divorced women SC/ST candidates: Below 40 years

Educational Qualifications:
You must have passed Matriculation and ITI Examination. You must have completed ITI approved by NCVT/ SCVT from any recognized institutions approved by AICTE.

Application Fee:
Rs. 40/-

Selection Process:
Written examination followed by Aptitude test and Verification of Original Documents.

Loco pilot is the post in which employee assists the drivers which pilots the train. Loco Pilot gives the right directions to the piloting person according to the signal lights.

Candidates will assist Driver in performing his duties including calling out signal as soon as one is sighted, fine-tuning Loco and attending minor repairs of the Loco.


Educational Qualifications:

1) One must complete the minimum 10th standard

2) One needs to complete the ITI (approved by NCVT/ SCVT) in any specific trade to apply for this post

3) One who completed the Diploma in Engineering is also eligible

Medical Standards:

One must have high levelled medical standard which is no other category required so far. One must have the highest standard of medical fitness in medical. This medical standard has to maintain from the period of joining and up to the end of carrier as Railway driver.
