Common Law Admission Test is directed on National level for students who want to pursue 5 years integrated law course and PG Course in top 14 law institutes of India. Eligibility Eligibility for UG Course Applicants must have obtained a Senior Secondary School certificate from a recognised Board with 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC and ST applicants). Age Limits: Applicants must be below 20 years of age (22 years in case of SC and ST candidates). Eligibility to PG Course Applicants must have obtained a LL. B/B. L. Degree from a recognized University with not less than 55% marks in aggregate (50% in case of SC and ST applicants ). Applicants appearing or have appeared in the qualifying degree exam and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear in the test. Exam Pattern CLAT is multiple-choice based entrance exam having 200 with negative marking of 1/4 marks for wrong answers. LAT entrance examination is conducted for admission to 17 of the coveted National Law Schools. The following national law universities (NLUs) consider CLAT scores for admissions to their under graduate program: NLSIU - Bangalore NALSAR - Hyderabad NLIU - Bhopal WBNUJS - Kolkata NLU - Jodhpur HNLU - Raipur GNLU - Gandhinagar RMLNLU - Lucknow RGNUL - Patiala CNLU - Patna NUALS - Kochi NLUO - Cuttack NUSRL - Ranchi NLUJAA - Guwahati DSNLU - Visakhapatnam TNNLS -Tiruchirappalli MNLU - Mumbai The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the national level law entrance exam conducted every year for shortlisting Aspirants for as many as 2190 seats distributed among the 16 participating NLUs. CLAT Eligibility: Aspirants should have passed Higher Secondary School/Intermediate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination with not less than 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of SC/ST/OBC and persons with Disability). There is no age bar for appearing in CLAT Aspirants appearing in the qualifying examination can also appear provisionally. However, they shall have to produce proof of having passed the qualifying examination before or at the time of admission with detailed mark sheet. Aspirant with compartment/supplementary in any subject in the qualifying examination will not be eligible for admission. CLAT Syllabus CLAT must be held in online mode where the paper will have 200 questions from five different subjects including English (Comprehension), General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability), Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. Following are the subject-wise syllabus for the common law admission test: English including Comprehension- You need to focus over English based comprehension passages and grammar. In the comprehension section, you will be questioned on understanding of a passage including its central theme and word-meanings. Some of the questions will also cover questions like correction of the incorrect grammatical sentences, fill in the blanks with appropriate words, etc. General Knowledge & Current Affairs- This section will test the knowledge of general awareness including static GK. Apart from GK, questions will also cover the recent topics and current affairs broadly featuring between March 2015 and April 2016. Mathematics (Numerical Ability)- The questions will generally of the numerical ability type of Class 10th standard. Legal Aptitude- The section will majorly test your interest towards study of law, research aptitude and problem solving ability. The questions will be framed on legal propositions and set of facts satisfying the propositions. The propositions may not be true in real sense and you will have to assume the true proposition based on the set of facts and answer the questions accordingly. Logical Reasoning- The questions of this section will test your ability to identify the patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. The section will also cover a variety of logical aptitude questions including syllogism, logical sequences, analogies, etc. However, the logical reasoning section will not have visual reasoning question |
