Directorate of Materials Management (DMM) under DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organization) was established in December 1994 consequent to trifurcation of Directorate of Planning and Resource Management (DP&RM) and has been assigned materials management duties.

Areas of Work

According EPC approval and Financial Sanction for Build-up, Maintenance and Project Items beyond delegated financial power.
Participation in TPC/NC Meetings.
Authorizing Rate Contract for common use Items / Services and constitution of TPC/NC for the same.
Management of FE transactions for the Dept. of Def. (R&D).
o Bulk Allocation
o Item-wise release
o Periodic reports
Issue of authorization certificate to Directors of Labs / Estts. for issue of Customs Duty and Excise Duty Exemption Certificate to Vendors.
Issue of Third Party CDE Certificate.
Concluding Air Consolidation Agent Contract for Air freighting of Stores.
Time barred payment sanctions, Ex-post Facto sanctions for Delivery Period extensions.
Dispute & Grievances handling for procurement related cases.
Regularization of procedural Irregularities, Waiver of LD Clause and Bank Guarantee and other Clauses beyond Directors financial power.
Periodic reporting to concerned Higher Authorities.
