The Department of Alumni Relations of Panjab University was established in 1882.

Panjab University has a long tradition of pursuing excellence in teaching and research.

In a quest to ensure greater interaction amongst the alumni, the Association provides for the establishment of local chapters at any place in India or abroad consisting of at least 20 members.

Presently four such chapters of the Panjab University Alumni Association are actively engaged in furthering the objectives of the Association in Canada at:

Lancaster (Ontario)
Vancouver;
Montreal; and
Kingston

Efforts are also afoot to open such Alumni Chapters in various cities of USA, UK and other countries.

The Department of Alumni Relations superintends the work of the PUAA and provides administrative support to it.
