You are looking for the PSC West Bengal Group D Recruitment. The PSC published the recruitment notification for the following post:

Inspector of Co-operative Societies
Panchayat Development Officer under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department
Rehabilitation Officer under the Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Department

The closing date for submitting application form was on 15th Nov 2011. At present there is no recruitment notification for the PSC West Bengal Group D.

WBPSC (West Bengal Public Service Commission) recruits the official candidates for Group A, B, C, D posts.

Syllabus for Group D exam

Sr. No. Name of Subject Marks

1 English Composition 25 Marks

2 General Science 25 Marks

3 Current events of National & International Importance 25 Marks

4 History of India 25 Marks

5 Geography of India with special reference to West Bengal 25 Marks

6 Indian Polity and Economy 25 Marks

7 Indian National Movement 25 Marks

8 General Mental Ability 25 Marks

Paper pattern

The Preliminary Examination will consist of only one paper, viz., a paper on “General Studies”.

The paper will be of an objective type consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions.

The paper will carry 200 marks and will be of 2½ hours duration.

The standard of the paper will be of the level of knowledge as expected of a graduate.

Syllabus of exam

1. English Composition

Synonyms
Antonyms
Idioms and Phrases
Vocabulary test
Phrasal Verbs
Same words bearing more than one meaning
Use of appropriate and qualifying words

2. General Science

In this section questions will be asked on the general appreciation and understanding of science, including matters of everyday observation and knowledge as may be expected of a well-educated person.

3. History of India

This section of the test includes the questions on the topics of emphasis social, economic and political aspects.

4. Geography

Questions will relate to Physical, Social and Economic Geography of the country, including the main features of Indian Agricultural and Natural Resources.

5. Indian Polity and Economy

Knowledge of the country’s Political System
Panchayatee Raj
Community Development and Planning in India
Indian National Movement
Growth of Nationalism and Attainment of Independence
