As you want to get the details of process to become an Income Tax Officer so here it is for you:

Firstly candidates will have to give the exam of Staff Selection Commission’s Combined Graduate level Tier I

Secondly candidates who are declared as qualified in Combined Graduate level Tier I will have to appear for the Combined Graduate level Tier II

Thirdly candidates who are declared as qualified in Combined Graduate level Tier II will have to appear for the SSC Interview

SSC CGL syllabus:
Paper-I :

One word substitution, improvement of sentences, active/passive voice of verbs, conversion into direct/indirect narration, shuffling of sentence parts, shuffling of sentences in a passage, close passage & comprehension passage, Spot the error, fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spelling/detecting mis-spelt words, idioms & phrases.

Paper-III :
Collection Classification and Presentation of Statistical Data – Primary and Secondary data, Methods of data collection; Tabulation of data; Graphs and charts; Frequency distributions; Statistics for Investigator Grade-II, for Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation & Compiler for RGI .Diagrammatic presentation of frequency distributions

Probability Theory – Meaning of probability; Different definitions of probability; Conditional probability; Compound probability; Independent events; Bayes‘ theorem.

Measures of Central Tendency- Common measures of central tendency – mean median and mode; Partition values- quartiles, deciles, percentiles

Correlation and Regression – Scatter diagram; simple correlation coefficient; simple regression lines; Spearman‘s rank correlation; Measures of association of attributes; Multiple regression; Multiple and partial correlation (For three variables only).

Random Variable and Probability Distributions – Random variable; Probability functions; Expectation and Variance of a random variable; Higher moments of a random variable; Binomial , Poisson, Normal and Exponential distributions; Joint distribution of two random variable (discrete).

As you have completed graduation degree in Commerce Stream and now want to become Income Tax Officer so here I am giving you detailed process.

Eligibility for Income Tax Officer:

Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have Bachelor's degree of any stream.

Age Limit:
Candidate must have attained the age of 18 years on 1st July of the year of examination and must not have attained 27 years of age on that date.

Upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Procedure to become an Income Tax Officer:

Step 1:
Candidates have to fill “Application Form” along with required information from the employment newspaper generally published in the month of April and sent the filled Application form to the regional centers as mentioned.
