Applicants who desires to become IPS Officer are required to crack civil services examination being holds every year by Union Public Service Commission For Your Idea, Here I am providing detailed information of IPS exam Eligibility Criteria: Aspirants should possess Degree in any discipline from any University recognised by Government. Age of the students should not be less than 21 years and should not be than 30 years to be eligible for IPS Exam. Exam Pattern: Paper I Objective Type - 2 hrs Paper II Objective Type - 2 hrs Paper III English Language Descriptive Type - 3 hrs Paper IV Essay - Descriptive Type - 3 hrs Paper V General Descriptive Type - 3 hrs Interview - 200 Marks The selection procedure to become an IPS Officer is by - Aptitude Test - Main Examination -Interview. |

To be eligible for becoming an IPS officer, applicants must possess a degree from an Indian University or an equivalent qualification. Those applicants in the final year of a degree course can also appear in the Preliminary Examination taken every year by UPSC. Eligibility Criteria: Age of the applicants should not be less than 21 years and should not be than 30 years to be eligible for IPS Exam Applicants should possess Degree in any discipline from any University recognised by Government. Procedure Of IPS Exam 1.Preliminary exam 2.Mains 3.Interview In month of May/June the aspirant have to take the preliminary exam consist of 2 papers. This exam is just a qualifying exam for the final exam & score obtained in this exam are not added to the final result. The applicants who have qualified in the preliminary exam are to take the final exam normally in the month of October. Once you are qualified the test the final stage is interview to test their personality & mental ability. Then the applicants who are secured good rank go for training.After completion of training they are posted as per recruitment of the central/state Govt. police & investigation organization. |

To become IPS Officer the first and the foremost step is to fit into the eligibility criteria IPS exam conducted by UPSC every year. First, you need to clear the IPS (Indian Police Services) exam conducted by Union public service commission (UPSC) every year. Educational Requirement: Graduate in any disciple Nationality: Citizen of India/ Nepal/ Bhutan Age Limit: Between the age of 21 – 30 years and the age is relaxed by 5 years for certain category (SC/ST) candidates. Physical requirement: Height – Male 165 cm & ST (not the SC/ OBC) – 160 cm Female 150 cm & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm Chest – Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm. Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye Near vision J 1 for good eye and J2 for worst eye Examination: 1. The exam consists of following parts: Preliminary (prelims) exam Main exam Interview Training: Selected candidates are then sent for a rigorous training which lasts for almost 1 year. Posting: After new officers complete their training, they are allotted state cadre which means that they have to work within the state. Salary: Around INR 40,000/month which can go up to INR 100,000/month by the time he retires.
