As you want to become Deputy Commissioner for it firstly you have to become an IPS officer than after it write civil service exam Eligibility to be an IPS Officer Candidate must have graduation degree from recognized University or an equivalent Final year students of degree course can also appear in the Preliminary Examination taken every year by UPSC. Age limit: Minimum age 21 years Maximum age 30 years The upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. . In the month of May or June the aspirants have to take the “Preliminary Exam” consisting of two papers. Paper 1 Current events of national and international importance History of India and Indian national movement Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world Indian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc. Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc. General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that do not require subject specialization General science. Total: 200 marks Paper 2 Comprehension Interpersonal skills including communication skills Logical reasoning and analytical ability Decision making and problem solving General mental ability Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. –Class X level) English language comprehension skills (Class X level) Total: 200 marks The optional subject for the second paper may be chosen from the following given subjects: 1 Agriculture 2 Animal Husbandry and veterinary science 3 Botany 4 Chemistry 5 Civil Engineering 6 Commerce 7 Economics 8 Electrical Engineering 9 Geography 10 Geology 11 Indian History 12 Law 13 Mathematics 14 Mechanical Engineering 15 Philosophy 16 Physics 17 Political Science 18 Psychology 19 Public Administration 20 Sociology 21 Statistics 22 Zoology |

In order to become Deputy Commissioner of Police, first of all you will need to join the Police Department as an Assistant Superintendent by qualifying Civil Service Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The Indian Police Service examination is a part of the Civil Services Examination which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission each year. Eligibility Criteria Physical Criteria Minimum Height - Men - 165cm Women - 150cm Relaxable minimum height is 160cm (men) and 145cm (women) for one belonging to ST and races such as Gorkhas, Garhwalias, Assamese, Kumaonis, Nagaland Tribals, etc. Minimum Chest Girth – Men/Women: 84cm 79cm Myopia (including cylinder) should not exceed minus 4.00D Hypermyopia (including cylinder) should not exceed plus 4.00D The presence of Squint is a disqualification Spectacles are permitted Distant vision for better eye (Corrected Vision) should be 6/6 or 6/9 Distant vision for the worse eye(Uncorrected Vision) should be 6/12 or 6/9 Near vision should be J1 and J2 respectively High grade color vision is required and Binocular vision is needed Nationality: One must be either of the following: Citizen of India Subject of Nepal Subject of Bhutan A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 for permanent settlement in India Migrant from any of the following countries for permanently settling in India: Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam Educational Qualification: One must hold a Bachelor's degree from any of the universities recognised by the UGC or possess an equivalent qualification.
