To be an astronaut you must hold bachelors degree in biological science, engineering, mathematics or physical science from a recognized university.

------you need to obtain any one of the following degrees from renowned institutes like IISC or IIT.

Phd (Astrophysics)

-----After graduation ,you can appear for the entrance exam which is held by the NASA for the recruitment of scientists, Astronauts etc.

-------You may also find employment in ISRO

---------In order to join ISRO, you need to clear joint entrance exam by IIT's.

If one wishes to become an Astronaut the first step is to complete Engineering and for that one should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Maths in 12th standard.

Also one should score well in the entrance exams like IIT-JEE. It is a must you join reputed institutes like IIT, IIST to have a successful career in this line.

One can choose from specializations like electrical, mechanical, electronics etc. M.Tech or M.S should be the next step. One should then try to join ISRO, DRDO to gain work experience.

Eligibility

Citizenship: candidates who are joining the ISRO need to be Indian citizens

Age limit: the candidate should be a tleast 21 years at the time of joining.
