Re: Predicted cut off for JEE advanced

IITs have specified certain minimum qualifying marks in JEE Advanced for admission to their undergraduate engineering programs.

Cut-off marks

Cut-off marks are referred to as Minimum Qualifying Marks for Ranking (MQMR).

Students must get more marks than these minimum Scores for JEE Advanced exam to be eligible for being included in the Common Merit List (CML) of JEE Advanced.

JEE Advanced Cutoff is different than MQMR.

It will be the score of the candidate with the lowest rank who will be accepted by the IITs this year.

JEE advanced cutoff marks will surely be much higher than the specified MQMR for this year.

Cut-off marks depends on

The specified cut off for JEE Advanced 2015 has been calculated by JEE authorities on a basis of number of factors, such as:

Previous Year’s cutoff, JEE Advanced 2015 Cutoff

Number of applicants for the exam,

Number of available seats in IITs and their annual intake, and

Difficulty level of the exam

Specified JEE Advanced 2015 Cutoff Score or MQMR

JEE Advanced Cutoff for General Category: 10% in each subject and 35% in aggregate

JEE Advanced Cutoff for OBC (NCL): 9% in each subject and 31.5% in aggregate

JEE Advanced Cutoff for SC: 5% in each subject and 17.5% in aggregate

JEE Advanced Cutoff for ST: 5% in each subject and 17.5% in aggregate

JEE Advanced Cutoff for PwD candidates in each category: 5% in each subject and 17.5% in aggregate

JEE Advanced Cutoff for Preparatory Course (in cases where eligible SC, ST, and PwD candidates are less than 1.4 times the seats reserved for them): 2.5% in each subject and 8.75% in aggregate

1) Scores of a subject in Paper 1 and Paper 2 are summed up to find the Subject Scores while Total Scores of Paper 1 and Paper 2 are summed up to find the Aggregate Score of a candidate.

2) Only those students who have taken both JEE Main and JEE Advanced are considered for ranking purposes.

Actual JEE Advanced 2015 Expected Cutoff will be different for different courses at various institutes, depending on the number of applicants for them.

They will correspond to the Closing Ranks of those courses.
