Established in 1999, Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF) is a multi-donor technical assistance facility financed by 11 multilateral and bilateral donors and housed inside the World Bank Group.

It is the only global facility devoted to strengthening the policy, regulatory and institutional underpinnings of private sector investment in infrastructure in emerging markets and developing countries. Its focus turns hundreds of thousands in grant financing into hundreds of millions in infrastructure investment.

PPIAF provides technical assistance and knowledge grants to governments to support the creation of a sound enabling environment for the provision of infrastructure services by the private sector.

Its mission is to help eliminate poverty and increase shared prosperity in developing countries by facilitating private sector involvement in infrastructure.

Team Members

It currently maintains two regional coordination offices in Nairobi and Dakar. PPIAF staff consists of the Program Manager, Senior Management team which consists of Senior Sector Specialists and Regional Program Leads, and Regional Portfolio Coordinators and Sector Specialists who oversee and manage PPIAF funded activities.
