Osmania University is a public state university located in Hyderabad, India, founded in 1918 with the help of chief architect of Mahbub Ali Khan Nawab Sarwar Jung.

PhD eligibility:

Interested candidates must be holding a post graduate degree, either regular or through distance mode, from a recognised university in the concerned subject or in an allied subject approved by Osmania University

They should have secured not less than 55% marks or equivalent CGPA (50% marks or equivalent CGPA in the case of SC/ST candidates)

In addition to the above, the candidates must have qualified in NET/ SET-TS/AP/ JEST/ GATE/ GPAT/ PhD eligibility test - 2016 in the concerned subject conducted by Osmania University or must have MPhil (through regular mode)/ PhD in an allied subject

Osmania University Ph.D. Eligibility Test 2018 Paper pattern:-

The eligibility test will be of 90 minutes duration and question paper consists of 100 objective (multiple choice only) type questions

The eligibility test will consist of any 3 or 4 varieties of objective type items such as analogies, classification, matching, comprehension of a research study / experiment / theoretical point of view, etc., with multiple answers besides the usual multiple choice items. The items will be framed only from the syllabus of eligibility test.

Maximum marks for eligibility test: 100 marks

Nature of test: Objective type with multiple choice questions.

Medium of eligibility test: The medium of eligibility test will be English only except for language subjects.
