The National Institute of Technology Surathkal is provides admission to a Ph.D. Programme shall be open to Indian Nationals who passed the qualifying degree in relevant field with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 in the 0-10 scale grading system, or not less than 60% marks in the aggregate.

National Institute of Technology (NIT) offers various UG, PG and Ph.D. level course in more than 10 disciplines.

Selection of candidates for admission to Ph.D. Programme was based upon the academic performance in the qualifying examinations, written aptitude test and interviews conducted by the concerned department.

All the students are required to stay in the Institute Hostels, unless permitted to reside outside under special circumstances.

Students have to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the institute.
