I have done Master degree course and I want to do PhD course from University of Calcutta so tell me the PhD courses offered by this University? tell me the minimum year of experience and the eligibility criteria for admission? I have to clear any entrance exam for admission?

Applications are invited for admission to the Department of Psychology, University of Calcutta for Ph.D. course and subsequent research work for obtaining the Ph.D. degree in Psychology.

The numbers of vacant seats are 16.Reservation policy shall be followed as per West Bengal Higher Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Rules, 2013.

Candidates who wish to pursue research work in the Department should apply in the prescribed application form and by paying Rs. 100.00 through a challan. Duly filled application form must reach the office of the Head of the Department within 23/03/2020.

The eligible candidates will have to appear in a written exam of 2 hours, to be held in the Department on 30th March 2020 (11.00 AM to 1.00 PM). Its syllabus is the UGC NET (Paper II and III) on Psychology and existing syllabus of M.A./M.Sc. in Psychology, University of Calcutta.

The results of the written test will be published on 2nd April 2020 (After 12.00 PM). The successful candidates will be called for an interview on 2nd April, 2020 (After 12.30 PM). The candidates selected on the basis of interview will be considered as Probationary Ph.D. student of the department.

One who has already passed UGC (JRF) exam/NET/SET/SLET /Teacher Fellowship or equivalent exams or passed the M.Phil in Psychology or equivalent exams need not appear for the written exam. Such candidates can directly appear for the interview but need to submit the application forms for admission within stipulated date i.e. 23rd March, 2020.
