The Ph.D. program in IIT Patna has started in Engineering, Science and Humanities & Social Sciences departments since July 2009. Faculty members at IIT Patna have diverse areas of research. Till date, IIT Patna has 140 research scholars that include 8 CSIR JRF awardees, 15 UGC JRF awardees, 4 DST inspire awardees, 2 TCS fellowship awardees, 1 UGC Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship awardees.
