I will tell you procedure for getting admission into PHD program conducted by Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology of Nagpur.

Admission procedure
All candidates will be required to appear for written test to be conducted in the respective departments on the date specified in the information brochure; further, the candidates shortlisted on the basis of performance in the written test shall be interviewed

The written test will be of qualifying nature and the marks cutoff will be 40% to get qualified for appearing in interview

The interviews for the short listed candidates will be conducted in the concerned departments as per the schedule given in this brochure


Mode of Study
PhD full Time course with sponsorship (area of research work VNIT only)

Full Time PhD programme with Teaching Assistantship

Full Time PhD programme with Sponsored Candidate category from 100% centrally funded research laboratories involving public and private sector industries.

Eligibility
Required eligibility criteria for Engineering: candidate must have Post Graduate degree in engineering/technology with GATE/NET qualification.

Required eligibility criteria for Applied Sciences: candidate needs Graduate degree in professional course with NET/GATE or Post Graduate degree (M.Sc or comparable) in Basic Sciences with GATE/NET qualification.

Exam fees
The candidate shall pay the exam fee of Rs.25000 /- for PhD full time/Sponsored prior to the submission of the thesis
