Which institute is better for pursuing Under Graduate Technical education between Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University in Gandhinagar and University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) in Dehradun, Uttarakhand as I want to take admisison in one of the best but I ma very confused about it?

Hii sir, Will you Please tell Me Which college should be preferred, for Engineering UPES Dehradun or PDPU Gandhinagar ?

UPES Dehradun

The University of Petroleum & Energy Studies is an Indian University located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand known traditionally for its education and research in fields of energy & power


PDPU Gandhinagar

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (or PDPU) Gujarat, established through PDPU Act, a legislature passed by Gujarat state assembly in 2007. The university is located at Raisan village of Gandhinagar city


Location - Choosing between Gandhinagar and Dehradun is like choosing between BMW & Mercedez. Both are equally brilliant in their own ways.

2. Campus - Again both have very good campuses but UPES edges out owing to a great landscape and wonderful architecture.

Course - PDPU provides B.Tech in Petroleum Engg. while UPES provides the same in Applied Petroleum Engg

Curriculum of PDPU is very well prepared encompassing all major aspects. Although, now it has been bifurcated into upstream & downstream.


Placements - Both colleges keep on having roller coaster rides when it comes to placements. Sometimes one has upper hands and sometimes the other one does well. Stats for both are modest.
