Paper Pattern of IFS Exam
The requirement notification for IFS Exam is published by UPSC officially. I have done MSW Program from JNU Jaipur. I want to apply for this Exam, so can you provide me details about its paper pattern. How many questions will ask in written exam and what is the total number for this written exam? Give me sample question papers of IFS Exam with their answer keys.

The Indian Forest Service Examination will be a 2-tier examination similar to the pattern of the Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC. The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination shall serve as the screening test for both the Indian Forest Service Examination as well as the Civil Services Examination. Paper Pattern of IFS Exam Preliminary Examination: The Examination is comprises of two compulsory Papers of 200 marks each. The question papers are of the objective type (multiple choice questions). The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English. However, questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper. There are 4 alternatives for the answers to every question. For each question for which a wrong answer given one-third of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty. Each paper will be of 2 hours duration. Blind candidates will; however, be allowed an extra time of twenty minutes for each paper. Main Examination: The Main Exam will consist of written examination and an interview test. All Question Papers must be answered in English. Question Papers will be set in English only. Time duration will be three hours for each paper. Paper-I General English 300 Marks Paper-II General Knowledge 300 Marks Paper-III Paper-IV Paper-V Paper-VI Any two subjects to be selected from the list of the optional subjects Each subject will have two papers, 200 marks for each paper. Total Marks 1400 Marks List of Optional Subjects: (i). Agriculture (ii). Agricultural Engineering (iii). Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science (iv). Botany (v). Chemistry (vi). Chemical Engineering (vii). Civil Engineering (viii). Forestry (ix). Geology (x). Mathematics (xi). Mechanical Engineering (xii). Physics (xiii). Statistics (xiv). Zoology Candidates can't take the following combination of subjects: 1. Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering 2. Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science 3. Agriculture and Forestry. 4. Chemistry and Chemical Engineering 5. Mathematics and Statistics 6. Of the Engineering subjects viz. Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering - not more than one subject. |
