Department of Otorhinolaryngology at AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) Jodhpur was started in March, 2013. It is committed to fulfil= its mandate in terms of patient care, teaching and research.

Basic OPD services had been started in July 2013. It conducts regular academic activities for teaching and training purposes. MBBS teaching has been started with clinical postings. Postgraduate program has started in July 2017.

OPD & IPD

It has a fully function outpatient clinic. There is a dedicated state of the art unit (workstation) in the OPD for minor diagnostic and therapeutic surgical and non-surgical procedures.

The workstation is preinstalled with a motorized patient chair, microscope, various angled endoscopes, flexible laryngoscope, stroboscope, radiofrequency cautery system and a full HD camera with monitor with recording and still image capture facilities.

It offers IPD services also for patients needing admission.


Academics & Research Activities

It also imparts teaching to undergraduates with postings in outpatient clinics, operation theatres, audiology clinics and inpatient wards along with conducting demonstrations and practical.

To enhance the problem solving abilities of the undergraduates and to break from conventional teaching schedules, Problem Based Learning (PBL) is also imparted to them which includes case presentations, debates etc. by the students along with unconventional learning methods.

Various research projects are undergoing into the Department in collaboration with other Departments as well as other institutes.

After the inception of PG program, it focuses on intensely designed teaching curriculum for the post graduates including academia and research along with routine clinical activities.
