The Industrial Engineering & Operations Reseaarch IEOR, IIT Bombay is established as one of the first interdisciplinary programmes in IIT Bombay.

IEOR offers research based M.Tech., Ph.D. and M.Sc.-Ph.D. dual degree programmes, and is actively involved in research (including sponsored projects), consulting and continuing education.

The discipline offers a blend of theory, modelling and application, drawing from traditional as well as modern areas of operations research, together with a systems view derived from long-standing principles of industrial engineering.

IEOR offers Master s (M.Tech.) and Doctoral (Ph.D.) degrees in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, and a Dual Degree M.Sc.-Ph.D. in Operations Research.

The Master s programme prepares students for a professional career in various fields, and provides the adequate foundation for those interested to pursue doctoral research. The doctoral programme supports a wide range of work ranging from fundamental theoretical contributions to innovative applications.

M.Tech Eligibility

Candidates must have at least 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST) or have passed in First Class in Bachelor s degree in any branch of engineering.

A valid GATE score in any discipline is required for TA, TAP, RA and RAP categories.

Work experience in a relevant area and/or GATE score is required for others.

PhD Eligibility

Applicants must have first class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in:

Master s degree in any branch of Engineering with adequate exposure to Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.

M.Sc. in Mathematics, Statistics or Operations Research.

Bachelor s degree in any branch of Engineering with an excellent academic record.

Candidate with Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Master s degree in Science must have a valid GATE score to become eligible for Teaching/Research Assistantships provided by the Institute.

M.Sc.-Ph.D. Eligibility

Bachelor s degree with either Mathematics or Statistics as a subject for at least two years/four semesters
