The Max M. Fisher College of Business is the business school of Ohio State University. It was established in 1916. Fisher is one of the founding members of the AACSB. Executive MBA The Fisher EMBA program is structured to provide minimal disruption to your busy work schedule and personal life. On-campus sessions meet three consecutive days a month (Thursday/Friday/Saturday) over a 17-month period, December through April of the second year. Core Courses- The Fisher core courses are designed to provide you with the fundamentals of business and develop the managerial thinking skills Students enrolled in EMBA-Energy are required to take the Energy Specialization Courses. Strategy Formulation and Implementation Examines the nature of corporate strategy, development of a conceptual framework for understanding competition in industries and factors that shape competitive success or failure Organizational Behavior Overviews the foundations of human behavior in organizations. Topics include group and teamwork effectiveness, managing performance, power and influence, leadership, conflict management, and organizational culture Managerial Economics Applies microeconomic and econometrics theories to analyze the firm’s immediate economic environment, including industry demand and rivalry, and the firm’s production and cost functions Business Statistics Introduces descriptive statistics, statistical inference, and regression. Major emphasis is placed on achieving an application-oriented understanding of data analysis tools and techniques. Accounting Examines fundamental accounting concepts and techniques that are employed by entities to facilitate planning, performance evaluation, and control Marketing Management Focuses on the interrelated elements of the marketing mix, its relationship with the other functional areas of management and marketing responses to consumers and to the external environment Financial Management Deals with important managerial decisions, such as project selection and financing, starting with the fundamental concepts of valuation and risk return Operations Management Considers strategic issues in managing operations as a means for competing in global markets, analyzes processes, capacity, quality, and improvement policies in both service and manufacturing settings. International Business Emerging Markets: Integrates a diverse body of knowledge to address the issues faced by the multinational firm. (This course meets in July, August and concludes in November after the international experience abroad) International Trip - October (tentative) As a part of the International Business course, students participate in a global immersion experience, by visiting organizations abroad to gain first-hand knowledge of operations in the global marketplace Professional Development: Your Leadership Legacy A practical review of the drivers of success in executive leadership roles, with a heavy emphasis on individual assessment, personal development, and career goals.
