Banaras Hindu University is a public central which was established in 1916. It is organized into 4 institutes and 14 faculties (streams) and more than 140 departments.

Master of Science Eligibility:

(a) M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Geology, Computer Science, Geography, Mathematics, Statistics, Psychology and Home Science (2-Year)

Eligibility
B.Sc. (Hons.)/ B.Sc. under 10+2+3 pattern securing at least 50% marks in the aggregate in Science subjects. The subject in which admission is being taken must be a Hons subject at B.Sc. (Hons.) level/subject studied in all the three parts at Graduate level.

For admission to M.Sc. in Botany/ Zoology a candidate must have Chemistry as one of the core subjects at the Graduate level.

(b) M.Sc. in Biochemistry: (2-Year)

Eligibility
B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biochemistry/ B.Sc. under 10+2+3 pattern with Biochemistry as a core subject in all the three years of graduation, securing at least of 50% marks in the aggregate in Science subjects,

OR

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry/ Botany/ Zoology/Life Sciences/B.Sc. under 10+2+3 pattern with Chemistry as a subject in all the three years of Graduation Course, securing at least 50% marks in the aggregate in Science subjects (considering all the three years of B.Sc. Course).

The candidate must also have studied any two of the following subjects viz., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, Physics, Geology, Physiology, Microbiology, Biotechnology and Industrial Microbiology at Graduate level.

(c) M.Sc. (Tech.) in Geophysics: (3-Year)

Eligibility
B.Sc. (Hons.)/ B.Sc. under 10+2+3 pattern scoring at least of 50% marks in the aggregate in Science subjects with Physics, Maths and one more Science subject.
