Re: Number of Attempts in IES Exam for General Category

The Indian Engineering Services (IES) are the organized group-A engineering services that meet the technical functions of the Government of India.

Eligibility

A Bachelors degree in Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent (B.E/B.Tech)

An M.Sc degree or equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects are acceptable for certain services / posts.

If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam

1.Civil Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Mechanical engineering.
4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Age limitations:

General:21-30 years
OBC:21-33 years
SC/ST:21-35 years.

Nationality: Indian

No of attempts: It is dependent upon category to which you belong.

General:4

OBC:7
SC/ST:no limit.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Preliminary exam
Written test
Interview

Scheme of Examination:

Paper I (Objective type)
Ability Test (Part A: General English) (Part B: General Studies)
200 Marks

Papers II & III (Objective type)
Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
200 Marks for each paper

Papers IV & V (Conventional type)
Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
200 Marks for each paper

Total marks for written examination
1000 Marks

Interview
Personality Test
200 Marks
