Re: NTSE Exam, How to participate

National talent search examination or NTSE is an annual examination conducted on a national level by NCERT.

Eligibility:
All Indian students studying in class-10 of recognized schools are eligible to appear for the first stage of NTSE.
There is no domicile restriction.
Even Indian students living abroad can appear for NTSE.

Quota & Scholarship
Quota for State/UT will be computed proportionally on the basis of student’s enrolment in Class IX and X

The amount of scholarship will be Rs. 500/- per month for all the students studying in Class XI onwards(irrespective of class/course) except for Ph.D., wherein it is paid as per UGC norms.

Paper pattern
The pattern of written examination for Class X will be as follows:

Stage I examination at the State/UT level will comprise two parts, namely

(a) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and

(b) Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering social sciences, sciences and mathematics and also includes Language Comprehensive Test.

Stage II examination at the National level will comprise

(a) Mental Ability Test (MAT),
(b) Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) covering social sciences, sciences and mathematics and also includes Language Comprehensive Test.
(c) Interview.

Only those candidates who qualify the written examination at the National Level will be invited for interview.
