I am interested in doing power engineering and came to know about the National Power Training Institute (NPTI). Will you please provide me details about National Power Training Institute (NPTI) is this institute is best also tell types of courses offered by this institute?

National Power Training Institute (NPTI), an ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 organization under Ministry of Power, Govt. of India is a National Apex body for Training and Human Resources Development in Power Sector with its Corporate Office at Faridabad.

It is good for doing power engineering or similar degree.

Regional Centres and other Institutes

Regional Centres


Southern Regional Centre established at Neyveli in 1965
Eastern Regional Centre established at Durgapur in 1968
Northern Regional Centre established at Badarpur, Delhi in 1974, within Badarpur Thermal power plant
Western Regional Centre established at Nagpur in 1975
North-Eastern Regional Centre established at Guwahati in 2003

Power Systems Training Institute (PSTI) established at Bangalore in 1972
Hot Line Training Centre (HLTC) established at Bangalore initially in 1958 and closed from 1969 to 1974. It was reopened in 1974.
Centre for Advanced Management and Power Studies (CAMPS) established at Faridabad in 2000
Hydro Power Training Centre (HPTC) established at Nangal in 2009

B.Tech/B.E. (Power Engineering)
The four-year B. Tech. in Power Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) is an AICTE approved course being offered at Badarpur, Nagpur & Durgapur Institutes and are respectively affiliated to GGSIP University, Nagpur University & West Bengal University of Technology.

Post Graduate Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering
The one year Post Graduate Diploma Course in Thermal Power Plant Engineering was launched in 1996 recognised by AICTE, at its institutes in Badarpur, Faridabad, Nangal, Nagpur, Guwahati, Durgapur and Neyveli.

Post Diploma Course in Thermal Power Plant Engineering
The Post Diploma Course in Thermal Power Plant Engineering was launched in December 2000 at the four Institutes at Badarpur, Nagpur, Durgapur and neyveli.

Post Graduate Diploma Course in Hydro Power Plant Engineering
The Post Diploma Course in Hydro Power Plant Engineering was launched in 2009 at Nangal, Punjab. It is a nine-month course.
