Staff Selection Commission or SSC’s recruits Junior Engineers. It holds open competitive examination for Junior Engineers in various disciplines like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Quantity Surveying and Contract etc. Its full is given below:

Name of the Department:
1. Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical) – Central Public Works Department (CPWD) & Department of Posts

2. Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical and Mechanical) – Border Roads Organisation in Ministry of Defence

3. Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying & Contract) in Military Engineering Service (MES)

4. Junior Engineer (Civil & Mechanical): Central Water Commission

Age limit:
(i) 18-27 years for Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical) in CPWD and Department of Posts

(ii) Not exceeding 30 years for Junior Engineer (Civil) and Junior Engineer (Electrical &
Mechanical) in MES

(iii) Up to 32 years for Junior Engineers (Civil & Mechanical) in CWC and Farakka Barrage.

(iv) 18-27 Years for Junior Engineers(Quantity Surveying and Contract) in MES

(v) Not exceeding 30 years for Junior Engineer (Civil) and Junior Engineer (Electrical &
Mechanical) in Border Roads Organisation (BRO) of Ministry of Defence

Educational Qualifications:
One should have passed Diploma or Engineering from an institution recognized by the central government or equivalent qualification in relevant discipline.

Application fee:
One need to pay Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) through State Bank of India either in the form of Challan or through SBI net banking.

Fee exemption is there for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Physically handicapped and Ex-Servicemen category applicants. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Mode of Selection:
Staff Selection Commission hold a Combined All India Open Examination which is followed by Interview/Skill Test/Document Verification as applicable in the concerned SSC Regional Office as valid proof of belonging to non-creamy layer of OBC.

The exam is conducted in two stages in comprises of multiple choice questions in from General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness and Engineering subjects.

The written test duration is 2 hours for Paper-I & Paper-II.

Last date for SSC JE Online registration Part-I: 07.08.2015 (upto :00 P.M.)
Last date of Receiving application Part-II: 10.08.2015 (upto 5:00 P.M.)
Date of SSC JE Written Exam: 06 December, 2015
