NMIMS Phd Eligibility (For full time Part Time Ph.D):
Full time MBA or Full Time PGDM or Part Time MBA (duration of the Programme in case of
FT,
MBA and
PGDM should not be less than 2 years) from recognized university or notified by AIU as Equivalent to MBA of an University or Master’s Degree in any relevant discipline like

Commerce/
Economics/
Statistics/
Psychology/
Sociology/
IT/
Engineering etc, or professional qualifications like
CA/
CS/
CWA. Etc.

Applicants who have successfully completed 1 year MBA or PGDM Program requiring experience of more than 5 years prior to MBA/PGDM; are eligible for applying for Ph.D program provided the MBA/PGDM program is approved by AICTE or by UGC.

Applicants appearing or awaiting for final year result are not eligible to apply for this course.

MBA through Distance or correspondence mode will NOT be eligible to apply for this course.


Trainee experience will not be considered while calculating the total work experience.

Full Time Ph.D
Applicants should have Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade at master’s level.

Applicants should have Minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade at master’s level and graduation degree with minimum 60% as mentioned by University in Final mark sheet at Bachelor level.

Full time Doctoral scholars will require 2 years of full time work experience at least after graduation
(2year work experience should be after obtaining graduation degree)

Part Time Ph.D:
Part time Ph.D will require at least 5 years full time work experience in executive or supervisory capacity
(out of which at least 2 years work experience should be after obtaining Masters Degree)

PhD ( Engineering ) :
Applicants should have M.E. / M.Tech ( Minimum two yrs ) at first attempt with minimum 60 percentage / Grade B + ( as mentioned by University in Final Marksheet ) at Masters Level ( Or )
Applicants should have M.E. / M.Tech ( Minimum two yrs ) at first attempt with minimum 55 percentage / Grade B ( as mentioned by University in Final Marksheet ) at Masters level & B.E / B.Tech with minimum 60 percentage / grade A ( as mentioned by University in Final Marksheet ) at Bachelor level.


PhD ( Technology Management ) :

NMIMS PhD Selection Process

Written Test & Personal Interview

Written Test :
Section A : General Aptitude test
Section B : Area / Domain Specific

Note : Applicants those who have qualified in NET / SET / GATE / JRF examination of the apex bodies in higher / technical professional education such as UGC, CSIR, ICMR or other equivalent examinations ( such as DST / DBT ) are exempted from NMIMS entrance test. However they have to appear for Personal Interview.

Personal Interview
Presentation based on SOP followed by Personal Interview.
During interview candidates are expected to discuss their research interest / area.
Only shortlisted candidates based on test will be called for Personal Interview.
Final merit list will be based on Written Test & Personal Interview

Duration of the PhD Program :
Minimum 3 & Maximum 5 Years.
