(Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. Programmes is through AILET to be conducted at Ahmedabad (Gandhinagar), Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Cuttack, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Raipur and Varanasi on May 1, 2016 (Sunday). (One year) Eligibility: LL.B. or an Equivalent Law Degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disability). The candidates appearing in final LL.B. examination in April/May, 2016 can also apply. Total Seats: 45 + 5 seats for Foreign Nationals. Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET (No. of seats may vary). Reservation: 15% for SC Candidates, 7.5% for ST Candidates, 3% for Persons with Disabilities. AILET Exam Pattern Duration of AILET for LLM is 90 minutes. This test carries 150 marks. The test is divided into two sections: objective and essay. The objective type section contains 100 questions which carry a mark each. The essay on a topic of law from aforementioned subjects carries 50 marks. AILET Syllabus General Knowledge: This section is meant to assess the knowledge of latest events and awareness of the world. A total of 35 questions will be asked from this section. These questions will be asked from topics like Civics, General Science, Geography, Current Affairs, History and Economics. Reasoning: This section aims to test your analytical and logical reasoning skills. There will be 35 questions from this section. Some of these questions may be in form of passages and questions related to it. Basic Mathematics: This section tests your numerical ability by posing 10 questions from Mathematics. The topics covered by this section are from 10th and 12th level such as Average, Time and Work, Profit & Loss, Venn Diagrams, Average, Permutation and Combination and Algebra. English: This section will test the vocabulary and language skills of the candidates. It comprises of 35 questions like idiom and phrases, fill-in the blanks, choosing correct word, jumble words and sentences, comprehension passages, synonyms and antonyms. Legal Aptitude: This section aims to test the interest of candidate towards law, ability to solve problems, and research aptitude. It comprises of 35 questions which are framed on legal propositions. |
