Re: NLIU Bhopal Act

NLIU's vision is to "Create NLIU as a Center of Excellence in Legal Education, Training and Research" and its central goal is to "Create and support the judgment skills for the improvement of the country and mankind through law and equity".

The NLIU Act points of interest:

This Act might be known as the Rashtriya Vidhi Sansthan Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam, 1997.

It should come into power on such date as the State Government might, by notice, select.

Definitions

In this Act, unless the connection generally requires:-

(i) "Scholastic chamber" means the Academic Council of the Institute;

(ii) "Chief" means the Director of the Institute;

(iii) "Official Council" implies the Executive Council of the Institute;

(iv) "General Council" implies the General Council of the Institute;

(v) " Registrar" implies the Registrar of the Institute;

(vi) "Regulations" mean the Regulations of the Institute made under Section 31;

(vii) "Organization" implies the National Law Institute College built up under Section; and

(viii) "Guest" implies the Visitor of the Institute.

Foundation and Incorporation of the National Law Institute

(1) With impact from such date as the State Government might by notice choose, there should be set up in the State of Madhya Pradesh an Institute by the name of the National Law Institute.

(2) The Institute should be a body corporate by the name aforementioned, having unending progression and a typical seal with force, subject to the procurements of this Act, to gain and hold property to contract and should sue and be sued by the said name.

(3) In all suits and other lawful procedures by or against the establishment, the pleadings should

be marked and checked by the Registrar or a delegate designated by him or by any individual selected by him for this reason and all procedures in such suits and procedures might be issued to and served on the Registrar.

(4) The home office of the Institute should be at Bhopal.
