Introduction to precision machines, Principles of accuracy, repeatability and precision. Errors due to
geometry,kinematics, thermal expansion, dynamic forces and instrumentation etc. System design considerations in precision engineering. Rolling and sliding contact bearings. Hydrostatic and magnetic bearings.

Precision gears, positioning mechanisms and drives. Electromagnetic piezoelectric and fluid actuators. Precision measurement and control devices.
