I heard that there are vacant seats in the M.Tech course in National Institute of Technology, Surathkal so I want to apply for spot admission in M.Tech course in this Institute so tell me the eligibility criteria and the admission process for spot admission? The eligibility requirement and other important details for Spot Round admission for the vacant seats in M. Tech. programmes at National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal are as follows:

Spot Round I for M. Tech programmes (GATE Qualified Candidates Only)

Eligibility:
Admission to M Tech program shall be open to Indian Nationals who have passed the prescribed qualifying examination, Class 10 and Class 12with a Cumulative Grade point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 in the 0-10 scale grading system OR not less than 60% marks in the aggregate (taking into account the marks scored in all subjects of all the University examination conducted during the entire prescribed period of the degree programme).However, this prescribed minimum shall be CGPA of 6.0 OR 55% marks for SC/ST candidates.

Only candidates with valid GATE score will be eligible for the Spot Round admissions. One needs to fill the application form and submit it along with a copy of all required documents . One can give as option any of the M Tech branches for which vacancy exists in the Spot round Vacancy matrix and for which they were eligible to apply under CCMT based on their qualifying degree and GATE discipline.

The application has to be submitted by one in person and all original documents must be available for verification. The allotment will be strictly based on the GATE score, academic eligibility and category to which the student belongs. Allotment will be made for all the vacant seats.

Students who are admitted to any Institute including NITK Surathkal under CCMT will be permitted to participate in Spot Round only if have withdrawn the current seat. A proof of cancellation needs to be produced at the time of Spot Round Registration

Spot Round II
In case there are significant number of vacancies after Spot Round I, Spot Round II may be conducted for which non-GATE candidates may be considered.

All original documents must be available for verification else the application will not be considered for allotment
1. Class X Marks Card
2. Class XII marks card
3. Marks Card of Qualifying Exam (all years) /all Semesters.
4. GATE score card
5. Caste Certificate issued by competent authority for SC/ST
6. OBC Certificate in the Central Govt. format issued by competent authority, if applicable. The caste should be listed in the central OBC list.
7. Physically Challenged Certificate, if applicable.

The selected candidates will have to make a payment of Rs 500 (Rs150 for SC/ST) through DD drawn in favour of the Director, NITK Surathkal payable at Mangalore as application fee while collecting the admission orders from the Academic Section. The selected candidates have to join the program immediately.
