National Institute of Technology Sikkim was established back in the year if 2010 and it is an Institute of National Importance in Sikkim state of India. It is one of the 30 National Institutes of Technology in India. And is one among the ten new NITs [2] established by the Ministry Of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India .

For Monsoon (3rd, 5th, & 7th) Semester:
13th August’2015: Commencement of monsoon semester classes of 3rd, 5th, & 7th Semester as published routine.
13th-15th August’2015: Registration and other formalities.
20th-21st August 2015: Registration with late fine.
24th August 2015: Invocation (Dhiksharambha)
28th September 2015 to 5th October2015: Mid- Semester Examination.
8th– 11th October 2015: sports week-1, Tech-fest (Abhiyantran).
19th October ’15 (on or before): Publication of mid Semester marks.
20th November’2015: End of theory classes.
21st-27th November’15: Lab/Practical examination.
1st– 11th December’15: End Semester examination.
22nd December 2015: Result publication.

For Winter (2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th) Semester:
11th January – 15th January’16: Registration, other formalities and monsoon semester supplementary examination.
20th-22st January 2016: Registration with late fine
18th January’16: Commencement of winter semester classes.
7th– 11th March’16: Midterm Examination.
13th– 15th March, 2016: Sports week-2 (for winter semester).
1st-3rd April, 2016 Annual Cultural Fest (Udgam)
18th April’16: Midterm result publication.
22nd April’16: End of theory classes.
23rd – 28th April’16: Lab/Practical examinations.
29th April, 16: Mini project presentation.
3rd May – 13th May’16: End semester examination.
14th May’16: 2nd, 4th, 6th Semester students leave for home or visit other Institute for Lab courses.
16th- 20th’ May, 16: Major project presentation.
1st June, 2016: Result publication
