NIT is Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad (MNNIT or NIT Allahabad). It is also known as MNIT. The Institute was established in the year of 1961. It is a public type institution with urban campus of around 222 acres. Mr. V. K. Saraswat is the chairman of the institution.

There is a Anti Ragging Committee in the institute/college and Anti Ragging Flying Squad take strict actions against the person who is ragging.
