National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) conducts the NIFT entrance test to provide admission to candidates in the B.Des, M.Des, BF Tech, MF Tech and MFM programmes. One has to qualify the CAT (Creative Ability Test) & GAT (General Ability Test) to get admission in its various courses. The exam is conducted for granting admission to the NIFT campuses in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kannur, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Patna, Raebareli, Shillong, Kangra, Jodhpur and Bhubaneswar. The various courses offered by NIFT are: Bachelor of Design (B. Des.) Master of Design (M. Des.) Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B. F. Tech.) Master of Fashion Technology (M. F. Tech.) Master of Fashion Management (MFM) NIFT Entrance Exam Syllabus General Ability Test (GAT) In GAT, the questions are asked from various sections which are: 1. Quantitative Ability 2. English Comprehension 3. Communication Ability 4. Analytical Ability 5. Current Affairs and GK 6. Case Study Quantitative Ability: This sub-test is designed to test the quantitative ability of the candidates. The exam includes questions on Addition, Multiplication, Division, Percentage, Rate of Interest, Fractions, Work and Task, Ratio and Proportion, and Distance. English Comprehension: This test aims to test the candidates ability to comprehend a situation from a given passage, and test of Basic English language. Communication Ability: This sub test is aimed at testing the language ability of the candidates in day to day communication in English. It includes questions on synonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, antonyms, plural, one word substitutes, idioms and phrases, correct spellings etc. |
