Here I am providing the / pattern of NIC Scientific Officer Exam for your idea.
NIC written test consists of a 100 mark test, which has two parts –
Part-I (Objective) paper has 30 marks
Part-II (Descriptive) paper has 70 marks.

NIC exam paper Part-I consists of 30 questions, each worth 1 mark.
NIC exam paper Part-II consists of 6 descriptive questions, out of which candidates have to attempt 5 questions, each worth 14 marks (hence 70 total marks in Part-II).

NIC Exam Syllabus:
The topics from which NIC questions are set are: HTML, OOPS, JAVA, DBMS, SQL, MEMORY, and OS.

The NIC (National Informatics Center) Exam pattern/Syllabus for Scientific Officer/Engineer-SB Programmer is similar to GATE but with very little stress on Theory of Computation, Automata Theory and little stress on Algorithm Analysis.
Questions are coming from the following subjects major.

1. DBMS
2. Operating system
3. Computer Network
4. C and C++
5. Software engineering
6. Very few questions related to TOC.

Eligibility Criteria for Scientific Officer

Educational Qualification
BE/ B Tech/ MCA with first class or minimum 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent and specialization in Computer Science/Computer related areas

OR

MSc in Computer Science with first class or at least 60% marks or equivalent

OR

Master's degree in Physics/ Maths/ Statistics/ Operation Research with either Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science from a Government recognized institution /University or minimum three years of experience in the areas indicated under Job Description is essential.

The Master's degree and Post Graduate Diploma should be with minimum 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade.

Paper Pattern

The NIC (National Informatics Center) Exam question paper consist of 100 questions, scheduled to be completed in 2 hours.

The NIC (National Informatics Center) Exam paper pattern is MCQ type divided into 2 sections.

75 questions are of 1 mark, rest of them will be of 3 marks each.

That means the exam is of 2 hours and having 100 Question out of hundred 75 questions are objective and remaining 25 question will have 3 marks. So total marks 150.

There is negative marking of (1/3rd) the marks allotted to a question.
