Raman Vij | Re: Income tax officer direct recruitment No, there is no direct recruitment for the post of Income tax officer you have to clear the exam for it Staff Service Commission (SSC) conducts an entrance exam every year for the recruitment of candidates in the income tax department. Eligibility: Candidates must have graduation degree from a recognized University. Age limit: Age must be at least 18 years and not more than 27 years Age relaxation is available for the candidates belonging to the backward classes as per govt rule Exam Pattern: There are two phases of examination one is Preliminary and Final examination Candidates who clear preliminary examination will go the final examination and candidates who clear final exam will go to the interview session. Syllabus of SSC Income Tax Officer exam General Intelligence: It would contain questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualisation, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation related concepts, arithmetic reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidates abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationships, arithmetical computations and their analytical functions. General English: Questions in this test will be designed to assess the knowledge of English language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms etc. There will also be a question on comprehension of a passage. Arithmetical Ability: Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidates to perform fundamental arithmetical operations and his skill in working our problems relating to percentages, ratio and proportion, average estimation, rounding numbers, use of tables and graphs, mensuration, time and distance, ratio and time. General Awareness: Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidates general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries, especially pertaining to history, culture, geography, economic scene, general polity and scientific research. |
