Netaji Subhas Open University has organized the B.Ed. ODL programme Workshop Based Practicum – I . -

Objectives:

To develop the capacity to facilitate personal growth and social skills in their own students.

To help student teachers discover themselves and develop habits of taking ownership of their
own learning, the attitude of a self-motivated learner, having self-knowledge and self-restraint.

To help student teachers develop the capacity for sensitivity, sound communication skills and
ways to develop professional competence.

Organisation of Workshop Based Practicum
It has three parts –

Pre-workshop activities;

Activities during Workshop;

Post-workshop activities;

Functions of Pre-Workshop Activities
• Reading of the concerned study materials;

• Consider materials for the preparation of teaching aids;

• Use of reference books, articles etc. as required by the student teacher;

• Keep their presentations, reports, seminar papers etc. for the use in the workshop activities;

• Try to develop quality teaching aids with the help of the peers;

Activities During Workshop

During workshops there will be –
a. Plenary sessions
b. Joint sessions
c. Group sessions
d. Feedback sessions
e. Presentation of micro lessons in simulated and real situations
f. Presentation of macro lesson plans in simulated and real situations

Workshop Based Activities was held on 26th December 2013 to 2nd January 2014
