NET Exam after Distance Learning MA from IGNOU
I have completed Distance Learning MA in English from IGNOU and now want to give NET so please tell me that I am eligible or not?

You are eligible for NET after Distance Learning MA in English from IGNOU if you have completed MA with minimum 55 % marks. UGC NET is conducted mainly to recruit research assistants and professors in various streams of education. Educational Qualification for UGC-NET: Candidates must have Master degree or equivalent in related subjects with minimum of 55%. The candidates appearing or have appeared for final year exams are also eligible. Age for UGC-NET: The candidates appearing for JRF should not be above 28 years of age. The candidates appearing only for lectureship have no upper age limit. Syllabus for NET English: UGC NET English Paper II: Chaucer to Shakespeare Jacobean to Restoration Periods Augustan Age: 18th Century Literature Romantic Period Victorian Period Modern Period Contemporary Period American and other non – British Literature’s Literary Theory and Criticism Rhetoric and Prosody UGC NET English Paper III (A) (Core Group): British Literature from Chaucer to the present day Criticism and Literary Theory. Unit – I: Literary Comprehension (with internal choice of poetry stanza and prose passage; four comprehension questions will be asked carrying 4 marks each). Unit – II: Up to the Renaissance. Unit – III: Jacobean to Restoration Periods. Unit – IV: Augustan Age: 18th Century Literature. Unit – V: Romantic Period. Unit – VI: Victorian and Pre – Raphaelites. Unit – VII: Modem British Literature. Unit – VIII: Contemporary British Literature. Unit – IX: Literary Theory and Criticism up to T. S. Eliot. Unit – X: Contemporary Theory.
