CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) is conducting NET (National Eligibility Test) on behalf of UGC (University Grants Commission) from 2014. This test is for formative the eligibility of candidates for the position of Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellow and Assistant Professor both. Qualification- The Applicants should have secured at least 55% marks at Maters degree or equivalent level from a known University / Institution approved by UGC. The Applicants who have appeared or will be appearing at the final year examination of Masters Degree are also eligible to apply. Age limit: Age limit for spirants applying for the position of Junior Research Fellow is 28 years as on 1st of December, 2014 and there is no upper age limit for the aspirants applying for the position of Assistant Professor. Pattern of Examination- NET will comprise of three papers. Objective type questions will be asked in all three papers. Three papers will be divided into two sessions. First session will include Paper-I and Paper-II, each paper will be of 1 ¼ hours. Paper-I will include 60 questions out of which candidates have to attempt any 50 and Paper-II will include 50 compulsory questions. National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted by CBSE for select the eligible candidates for research work and for providing job in the public sector undertakings . Eligibility for Exam:: Candidates should possess post graduate degrees. Candidate should secure at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD Candidates) Age Limit: Maximum ages should not exceed 28 years for applicants of JRF (NET) No limitation in ages for LS (NET) applicants. Pattern of Examination: The candidates will be required to answer MCQ (Multiple Choice based questions) in the following major subjects – 1) Life Sciences 2) Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences 3) Mathematical Sciences 4) Chemical Sciences 5) Physical Sciences 6) Engineering Sciences Total Marks: 200 Total Exam Duration: 3 Hours Negative Marking for wrong attempts shall be applicable as per the subject wise scheme laid out for this exam. Schedule of Examination: Morning Session: 9:00 -12:00 Afternoon Session: 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm Important dates NET 2015: Dates to Register Online: 13th February 2015 to 12th March 2015 Dates to Pay Application Fee: 13th February 2015 to 11th March 2015 Dates of Closing for Application Form Receipt: 17th March 2015 For Remote Area candidates: 23rd March 2015 Last date for Change of Exam Centre (on merit basis only): 20th April 2015 Date of Test: 21st June 2015 |
