About the NDRI :

NDRI is proud of the contributions we make in supporting the global research community in the quest for treatments and cures that will eliminate disease and improve quality of life. We work vigilantly to be trusted stewards of the precious gifts donated for research from selfless individuals, family members and loved ones.

Human tissues from both infected and uninfected individuals are necessary to continue the vital work of discovering new therapies for HIV/AIDS and minimizing adverse side effects from treatment.

About the Treatment Program

The HIV Program has established a network of organizations to identify and refer HIV-positive organ and tissue donors to NDRI. In addition, NDRIs Private Donor Program allows patients with HIV to register as organ and tissue donors for research prior to surgery or death.


NDRI can provide researchers with de-identified relevant medical history for each donor, as available, including:

Recent CD4 counts

Viral load

Anti-HIV medications

Co-infections (HBV, HCV, TB, etc.)
